England's National Day (but not a holiday)
grrr.... why isn't St. George's day a holiday? Yet another silly thing in the silly sea of daftness that the UK is becoming.
I haven't got much to say about the day apart from I definitely think it should be a national holiday, something like Canada Day but for the Brits.
For other interesting views about the day you can visit that old stalwart The Guardian or visit the blog of the superb Diamond Geezer who has now become a daily must-read for me.
Oh... have you heard about the "love in" for blogland? Well, thought I better come by and let you know Garry that you are terrific (from what I know of you thus far) and I appreciate being able to step in and read what you write! Love ya!

Er... I'd rather have St David's Day on 1 March ta very much. Yeah I know, pedantic or what. But St George's day is for the English, not the Brits.
But thank you for the link to TypePad - I'll be following that with interest.
Posted by: Daisy at April 29, 2003 10:10 AMDaisy, you're quite right of course. I actually did say to Carla that Wales should get St. David's day and the Scots should get St. Andrews as a holiday before I wrote the entry.
Didn't actually manage to say that in the entry though did I? Hmmm... :-/
Consider this a correction!
